A Girl and her Horse
Bramble is a horse tired of giving riding lessons that literally go round in circles. Maggie is a girl who wants a pony to ride and to take care of. Yet, both are picky and know that they must not fall in love with the first girl (or horse) they see. But when Maggie sees Bramble, she does fall in love. Plus Bramble has a good feeling about Maggie. So, perhaps these two might possibly be perfect for each other?
You can find out in the latest book by horse enthusiast, Jessie Haas, Bramble and Maggie. Haas has written more than 25 books (mostly about horses) and this one is just as delightful as the others. Illustrations by Alison Friend are a bright and exciting addition to the text. You canter, trot and prance through the story and wonder how Maggie and Bramble’s stories unfold as each tells it in alternating chapters. Perfect for a slightly younger horse-lover audience (ages 5 to 9) and those just picking up their first book filled with chapters.
You can find these and other horse stories (and non-fiction, too). Plus other early readers and just plain good stories and horse goodies that are equally perfect on the shelves of the Northshire Bookstore.
