The Future is Here (soon)
The future is just around the corner…or at least two months away with two new fun realistic fantasy novels. In a Fix by Linda Grimes and Death Warmed Over by Kevin J. Anderson.
Ciel has a unique talent: as a “human chameleon” she can make herself look exactly like someone else. Because of this, she decides to start a business where she can help wealthy clients take care of those “pesky” jobs of life (reconnecting with a dying loved one; dealing with the in-laws at the holidays and getting that marriage proposal from your boyfriend). But when that last job turns into something a little more dangerous (a phone call informing her to get of the house before it blows up) starts the ball rolling, Ciel’s craziest assignment yet has just started! To get that proposal for her client she has to find out who kidnapped the potential fiancé, find out why he was kidnapped and figure out how her “sort of” cousin is involved. Piece of cake! Now if only her over protective family, her brothers (hot) best friend and modern day (possible terrorist) Vikings would stay out of her way, things will be perfect……! Seriously funny, this modern day Jane Bond meets fantastical situations will have you laughing and wondering how Ciel will get out each wonderful situation.
But perhaps our hero, Dan “Shamble” Chambeaux is in a greater fix. He’s newly dead (and newly become a zombie) in Death Warmed Over by Anderson.
Ever since the Big Uneasy unleashed the undead (or Unnaturals) on the world, it’s been one unreal case after another for zombie P.I. Dan Chambeaux. Dan, with his human lawyer partner and their “office manager” (his ghost of a girlfriend) take on some of the wildest, craziest, funniest, oddest and dangerous cases this new world has to offer. But one of the greatest cases Chambeaux has to deal with is who murdered him. Plus he must find out if it is connected to another murder as well as the recent unrest in the Unnatural Quarter. Less than scary vampires, hit-man werewolves, witches who sue the publishing company who didn’t do a “spell check” and various levels of decaying zombies, monsters, ghosts, trolls, goblins and other creatures (some even human) combine into one twisted, tasty treat!
And you can pre-order these with one of our very natural booksellers. And while you wait, you can browse the shelves to find other books on zombies, strong gals or characters with unique twists and turns.
