Having just celebrated its 7th anniversary, this popular event is ranked number two by Vermont Sports Magazine as “Best of Vermont, Best Ski Area Event.” The Vermont Open continues to grow each year, not only with the number of contestants competing, but with the quality of the prizes they get to bring home. Snowboarders of all ages are invited to enter and come together to celebrate the beginning of snowboarding and its progression by riding, celebrating, and simply enjoying the snow. 2019 featured four separate events with a prize for the overall winner as well. The events included a Rail Jam, Slopestyle, a Banked Slalom, and a Retro Pipe. With categories of 13 and under, 14–18, and 19 plus, there were winners of all ages and genders, not to mention the handful of pros who joined in for some friendly competition. Be sure to catch this favorite event of the locals as it comes back around next winter season!
